Both of my dogs eat Purina rx food. One absolutely has to and the other is my choice. I do have more faith in their rx foods. I woud not go near their chicken jerky. I also would not choose their OTC foods.
If it hurts my girl I'd be devastated, but she was slowly getting sicker and sicker while not on it, so her risk is lower even with a comany that is causing concern. I could switch the boy to ID or something, but he likes his EN and does well on it. If I saw the rx food hurting the girl, I would be inclined to switch him. For now he will stay on it. I don't like playing the flavor of the week food game with him. If I was really worried about their rx food, then sure I would change his. I am just not though.
At some pount I gave up putting a ton of energy into figuring out exactly what food is safest at any given time. In general I am still more concerned about smaller companies than larger ones. I don't put thought into where the money goes because it is saving the girl's life and saving a lot of hassle for the boy. The other food he did well on was Eukanuba. I would sooner feed Purina. Honestly, I feel like I owe this company quite a bit for helping my pups.
