Jar with pennies in it Hi, so Geno is turning 1 in a few weeks and is still having a decent amount of accidents. He does use potty pads and will go pee on them and every time I catch him peeing on his pad, I praise him and give him a treat. Unfortunately, I do not think he makes the connection cause I still catch him peeing everywhere else but the pad. When I catch him, I give a firm NO! and he'll stop peeing and go hide behind the couch. I do feel bad cause I don't want him to feel like he isn't allowed to go - just his choice of where to go is wrong. Has anyone used a jar or can filled with pennies or something else that makes a rattling noise? They say that whenever you catch your dog doing something he shouldn't, you should rattle it. It's suppose to startle them and after a while they should start associating the noise with what they shouldn't do. Does that actually work? And would it work for when I catch him going potty in the wrong places? |
