Patti, I'm so sorry to hear this. I do know vision can change drastically in only a couple of days; there are certain types of eye conditions that come on very quickly.
I think that maybe a playpen might be a good idea for now. It almost sounds like perhaps his hearing and sense of smell may be deteriorating as well.
