We decided to keep him on the food he is on because it appears to be working. He went in for his first monthly weigh in and he has dropped 2lbs this month - and the vet we are dealing with now was happy with it. She has kept him on the amount he is being fed as he is losing weight and isn't hungry for more food. If anything, he has has more energy and isn't as grumpy as he usually was. |
Thank you for updating, I'm so glad he's doing well. Two pounds is great for a small dog to lose in the first month. I'm glad you found an amount where he can lose weight and still feel good. It’s true, excess weight can zap us of our energy and then that in turn makes us gain more weight.
