As much as we adore these precious little souls, reality stripped to the bone is, they are dogs. I hate to even say those words because I am the world's worst at "humanizing" all my dogs! They are driven by instinct, not emotions. They will grieve the loss of puppies, but they forget it when the hormones that cause them to bond with their babies, subside...it isnt an everlasting ache in their heart that stays with them. They do not have the capacity to realize they will feel "left out" or "not as much a woman" if they do not have puppies, so no, she will not miss not having another litter. It will be a hard decision for you, whether to spay Bonnie or not....always keep her health first and foremost in your mind.
