Hi and thanks for replying ,I didnt have autopsies on the pups as the vet advised against it if there were no obvious abnormalities and if I had to guess why the 2nd pup died I would say mum fell asleep on him because she was shattered and very,very protective but she just fell into motherhood and did her best.I dont think I could go through this again as since this happened I cant get how such a happy event turned so tragic.
If I get her spayed will she always crave what she nearly had ,my vet says dogs act on instinct not emotion so when her hormones settle she wont remember this but I know my dog and she has got lots of emotion .I dont wont to take her future motherhood away from her but do you think it will be kinder to get her spayed ,she does have a wonderful relationship with clyde and both my dogs are very social with people and other dogs and cats too.
