HHMMM.. I think that she is asking if her dog could catch the infection from a human being..
I know that staf can be contagious. But the dog would have to have a wound or a cratch for the staf to enter. I think as long as you take the same precautions with the dog, that you do with people, you shouldn't have a problem. I hope that this was of some help!
