I prefer St. Augustine grass as it is so luxurious looking and you can buy it in sod. Ours "took" pretty fast when we first had it put in and it is wonderfully cusion-like to sit on. It does grow awfully thick & fast though. It takes quite a big dog a lot of trips to wear a path in it.
