I kind of think I would have noticed if my dog's ears had been taped back together after I picked him up from grooming..........don't ya'll? I mean if your eyesight were the worst and you couldn't see it, wouldn't you at least feel the tape on the ears before the tape loosens & they fall off? Or wouldn't you see or hear your dog constantly scratching & pawing at the tape on the cut ears? That makes no sense to me. If it is true, I can't imagine what that poor dog plus the other one with the cut-off tail tip went through! The more I hear of terrible grooming incidents - if even half of them are true - the happier it makes me that my dog is groomed at home.
