To my knowledge, you cannot hurt them with coconut oil. I let their bodies decide how much they need. They'll quit eating it when they're full...or done with it. I put tiny chunks of the oil straight from the fridge in small bowls and let them decide when they are done. Then I put the rest away until the next time, etc.
