I just had my foster neutered yesterday and he had an undecended testicle. He is in more pain than a regular neuter, but it's what's best for him. He is also an older guy.

While I don't think taking a dog's testes with neuter being cruel, I do think keeping them intact so to always try to find females i n heat and not being able to breed is. And in no way do I condone breeding dogs just for the sake of it. Breeding should be taken very seriously, with only the best specimens of the breed to do so, and the rest should be spayed or neutered for the sake of the pet overpopulation.
