Puzzeled Help Please To any of you who remember me, I lost my husband and my yorkie with 1 month. Have a puppy now will be 6 months 29th. Had her since she was 7 weeks. I have had her to the vet on time for all exams, shots, etc. I wanted to have her spayed. She was only 1lb 4 oz. and it took her forever to get to 3 lbs. Last time I took her in, last month she was 3lbs. 9oz. She is very thin compared to my little Dee Dee. She was never over 5 yp 6 lbs. but she was chunkier if that makes sense. BJ feels so thin you can feel her ribs and her back bone. The vet said she is fine. She eats great, just changed her to natural dog food but she still wants her Ceasar in the morning.
My vet has about 6 vets and BJ has seen the two owners. I asked them when I can have her spayed and they said 7 months. I know we had Dee Dee done at or before 6 months. I called her breeder and she said she thinks since I lost my husband and Dee Dee all within the last 6 months, they are worried that until B J gets a little bigger that something could happen to her which would completelly throw me over the edge. She said it may be better to let her go through her heat period and not take the chance. They know what frame of mind I am in and they are trying to protect me. Is it OK to let them go through heat and have them spayed? I always had my females done before but one was a Doberman, one a German Shephard and then Dee Dee my Yorkie. ???????????? |
