I need some Advice I just brought a yorkie (Miss Jay) that will be 9 weeks on this friday. I have had her for about 2 weeks. I absolutly love her and I would love for her to be house dog that is able to roam free around the house without her getting into everything or pooing or peeing everywhere. I did some research and everyone suggest that I use the crate to train her. I tried that and everytime I put her in there she would cry and cry and cry. To the point where she would shake and throw up. I work about 8 hours out the day. I would take her out in the morning and come home on my lunch break and take her out. I also take her out in the evening after work and she does go during those times but on top of her hating the crate she would also pee in there. So I went and I found a baby playpen at a yard sale and I don't have any problems from her as far as crying. She however will still pee in there. I put the pee pads in the playpen with her and I still continue to take her outside. She does do her business outside and I reward her with lots and lots of love but I don't want her to pee at all in the house whether it is the playpen, crate or my carpet. I am wondering if I contiue to keep her in the playpen will she get confused and still continue to pee in the playpen and house. I really don't have the heart to stick her back in the crate plus we both get a good night sleep when she is the playpen. Does anybody have any suggestions or will Miss Jay eventually catch on and only pee and poo out side only? |
