As he got older, I required daily communication from teachers; but still had to step in on more occasions than I should have had too... even to the point of changing teachers mid-year during 1st grade. As parents, we are their most powerful advocate... I became involved in the schools he has attended and became friendly with teachers and staff, but I always reminded them during IEP meetings that I would be holding them accountable.
