Best Friends Pet Care has excellent boarding facilities (at least in my area). I have never used because I am a CRAZY parent who refuses to leave Romeo with anyone, family included. Several of my friends have used Best Friends' service and they highly recommend. The facility is equipped with webcams which you can view via the internet, and on your smartphone too. Worth checking to see if there's a facility where you will be on vacation -- they always have photos online.
