I am a little surprised a rescue was adoptable without being spayed.
But accidents do happen and I hope that you do use your vet to get through this. Honestly, if it was one of my girls I would seek the vet's help as I have no experience with this myself. I think having their assistance through this will be the best for your girl. And like the others said, please consider getting both your male and female fixed asap. Good luck.
