I don't think a puppy would get confused sleeping in one place one night and another the next night -- if it's with you both times.

I brought my pup home and it slept all over the house the first week.

My pup had to ride over an hour when I brought him home. He slept the whole way. If I were going on a longer drive - I'd like to have someone with me ...we could take turns driving and take turns holding him. I'm sure he'll sleep most of the way like mine did. And - if he pee's or has an accident - so what! Take some baby wipes, paper towels, and several clean towels. You'll do just fine.

Also have water and some soft food available....or whatever the breeder has been feeding him. And, have some Karo syrup with you in case you need it.
The breeder should be able to help you with a list of things you should have for the trip.

Personally - I'd rather drive all the way home -- just to get there. But, stopping for an evening shouldn't cause any problems at all.

I think he'll do just fine. Good luck! (Be sure and take a friend with you!)
