According to the site, Yorkies have been bred down in size to teacup and toys size. That's news to me, I thought the Yorkie was Toy dog for many decades and I certainly don't know any show breeders purposely breeding down to teacup size. Dog sellers often aim for teacup size though.
But hten what do I know I have only shown my own dogs int eh rings for 15 years, finished my own champions and have been mentored by very long time show breeders. I'll have to pass the word around, LOL.
Also where are th e photos and registered names of the sires/dams? And I mean the breeders own pictures. Sires and dams will give a pretty good idea of what a puppy will look like as an adult. And where are the pedigrees if champions are in the pedigree I would think that piece of info would be on the website as well.
10-12 weeks is way to young for a what you call a 'teacup' to leave its home. They are usually a little behind in development and can be more at risk for hypoglycemia. Also, if it is small due to health issues you would want to keep it at home to give it time to mature and see if anything does manifest.
Any puppies I have for a pet home dont go until 3 1/2 months much older if particularly small. |
