I didn't know surgery was the only way to correct it. I went with what the vet told me, that either this or surgery can fix it. He said lots of dogs have gotten this cast done and have been successful so i am being hopeful and waiting the 6 weeks. we spent $3000 on that day alone, to get her the best help, i don't think i am being cruel by taking her to the vet and doing all i can. This was before i was able to come on here and speak with others about this condition. I have never even heard of this condition before this. I am doing all i can for her, and have even taken off work to be with her. She has not been left alone at all. |
Sometimes the cast does work from what I have been told. I know that I personally would not want to go that route, but I understand that many people do. Surgery can be a failure as well.
Please do yourself a favor and join the Yahoo group that Perella and Anaic have suggested...you will be with people who have gone through just what you are going through. People who really do understand and also know more about this condition. I cannot stress this enough...you really DO need to be with them at this time. They can offer you a lot of support! I don't want to see you not post on YT....we also want to hear how things are going.
You and your sweet Livie are in my thoughts and prayers.
