I'm so sorry to hear about this - about the need for all the additional surgery. Be sure that he follows the surgeon's absolute orders during the entire post-op course as this type of injury can lead to mal-union, non-union and/or osteomyelitis which are pretty bad and no fun if unresponsive to treatment. So encourage him to do everything the doctor advises when he advises and how he advises so he will come out of this faster and healed finally and fully. And thank goodness for today's wonderful orthopedic surgery fixation & restorative/bone grafting techniques as these injuries in the past were often crippling or worse. So I know the need for all this additional surgery is so awful to face but thank goodness he can be fixed. My prayers will be with you, your DH & that ortho. surgeon.
