They sell a liquid house training aid that has a hormone that is supposed to attract puppies to the place where you want them to go. Most puppy pee pads are supposed to already have this on them but some seem to work better than others. You might want to try getting some to put on your pee pads just to get his nose working a little better so he gets the idea of what those pads are for. And of course get him right on the pad as soon as he looks like he is about to do something. The attractant can be used outside also. Pick one area where you want him to go and take him to that spot every time. Having a command like "go potty" or what ever helps also. As soon as he goes reward him and take him right inside. Some puppies get confused and think that going out is about play and don't realize what you want them to do. He'll get it eventually. |
