Do not put any eye drops in his eye unless it is just a lubricant or tear-replacer.. It is dangerous to fool with their eyes--scaring can cause blindness. You are correct in taking him to the vet.
You can wash his eyes with warm water and a cotton ball. Use a different ball for each eye. Don't cross-contaminate the eyes. Benadryl at 1mgm per lb of weight is the recommended dosage but since your vet has given you a dose to give, use that..
If your baby is not eating, use honey or nutrical or similar product put in the mouth. I hope your baby recovers really quickly and gets back to his normal Yorkie self..
BTW, wash, wash wash your hands anytime after touching his face. You MIGHT catch something from him..
