When ears are cropped in some breeds a surgical glue is also applied to properly form the ears together at the tip & under the bandages.
This is separate from the same glue also used on the incision parts under a liquid band-aid. Even in this scenario many vets and breeders are against this application.
So perhaps this stemmed from this-but I'd assume anyone with good sense would be against it.
