Little dogs have little bladders. Sometimes it seems they have to pee a lot. A puppy does not have full control of it's bladder until a while after it's 16th week so a lot of training is just teaching them what you expect of them. They can't really hold back the urine when they are quite young. I don't know why your vet would say what he did. It would be silly not to start training you puppy until it was 4 months old. Maybe he was just referring to the fact that they don't have much control when they are young. Being consistent is usually the key. Congratulation on your new little pet. Is he going to go riding with you? It seems like with a name like Ryder he must be going somewhere!
