I agree with your vet especially if you are going to take major steps in housebreaking. Some people tether the dog to them, while others crate train letting their dog out every hour or so. I kind of let Joey train himself, he was in a large x-pen during the day with several pee pads and his bed and food and water. When he was out of the pen, both eyes were on him and at the first sign of sniffing and circling, I'd place him on a pee pad. We kept him in a small crate at night and took him out every few hours and placed him on a pad. I think the biggest mistake people make is allowing the pup to have too much freedom too soon. I’m a little concerned because you’re bigger dog since he’s still a puppy, might play to rough with the Yorkies, do you keep them separated? We have had many sad stories here, and not every big dog is good with Yorkies, but some are great.
