Well i know frome experience that some yorkies can have an issue with housetraining but you certainly are not wasting your time to start training him now.
Are you pad training or outside training?
The outside can be more difficult if you will be away for the but it certainly can be done.
There are lots of people who have experience with this very subject so you will get lots of helpful advice.

Thank you! We are doing both, outside and puppy pads. That's how we trained our Goldren Retreiver/Rottweiler. However, Ryder isn't using the puppy pads very well, any suggestions on that? He stays in a huge kennel during the day, and doesn't have many accidents. But, he'll pee 10 minutes after I take him outside, even if he pees twice outside. Is that normal? I don't remember our other dog doing that. I mean, he peed a lot of course, but he'd go outside and not have accidents if we took him on a regular basis.
