Where did you find the 7700 we are both looking at the 7300-N/8 I can't ind an explanation in the difference in noise online.
I'm wondering if one is quieter than another-anyone know?

I think the 7300 is probably fine. It has a smaller motor but that won't necessarily make it quieter. It could take slightly longer to file is all. It looks a little lighter which is nice (the one I have is solid bodied and the 7300 looks hollow in the center of the handle)

If you happen to have larger dogs in the house as well or would ever consider using this tool for more than just nails, I would go with the 7700 but overall you can't beat $20!
