Unfortunately, it's impossible to guarantee how big a Yorkie puppy will be as an adult. The only way to be sure that your dog won't be over 5 lbs is to get a Yorkie who is fully grown. The general rule of thumb is to double their weight at 12 weeks, but that doesn't always hold true. Good luck in your puppy search, and as you've been advised, it's best for toy breeds to stay with their moms until they are at least 12 weeks old.
