There is not anything that you can do = at least nothing that I know about. The same thing will happen here in Texas - our early trees are starting to leaf out. We will probably get one more freeze and they will drop off and have to do it again. About the only thing you can do is to keep your plants watered. It seems crazy but watering plants before a freeze will keep them from getting as damaged. However, in NJ, you are likely to have extremely cold weather before the spring, so they are likely to get really damaged. Maybe they will come out again, after the freeze, I'm not sure!
