I can't imagine that size dog as an adult. I would be afraid of medical procedures on an extra tiny dog.
I use Heartgard for dogs 1-25lbs. I haven't found any problem's with finding flea or Heartworm medicine. I recommend Heartgard I've used it on my other dog (not a Yorkie, but a Westie) for over 10 years (shes 12) and have had no problems with it. For the flea medication i use Advantage, and never had problems with that either. When I got her she was scratching her ears and the breeder had told me that she had gotten an ear infection from giving her a bath. The vet prescribed my pup with medicine /antibiotics (which I didn't agree with because the infection was extremely minor), but had used it and within the next week and a half it was gone. She's fine and perfectly healthy, and I hope that she will not be needing any medical procedures in the future--however it can be a luck of the draw sometimes--its just like real babies, they can't always be perfectly healthy regardless of gender, size, and breeding line (if that's how you call it). I wish the best of luck to your Khloe though.
