I recommend fleece fabric on this as it makes it's own binding or edging on this pattern by just rolling under and sew. I've sewed several coats for my girls and I like this pattern for ease.

Yes, this is my favorite pattern! I made my very 1st vest with a ruffle with this one.
Now, I just add a skirt or whatever I want to change on it.
