You need to capture the critter so you will have something to show the vet! I do not believe it is a "red mange mite" because they are microscopic mites. When you see the red bug again, capture it with a piece of scotch tape...wrap a piece of scotch tape, sticky side away from your finger, and when you see the tiny bug, touch the bug with the sticky side of the tape, and you will have it stuck on the tape! Dont let anything stick to the tape on top of the bug! Let the vet see the bug under the microscope and they can tell you for sure if it is a red mite!
