I really, really dont want to do that to my little guy again so we are trying to rehab his knee in the pool everday to see if it will improve the situation. I have a feeling we will have to do the surgery again. Its so hard to keep him from wanting to play. The vet told us to crate him for 10 weeks! Yeah, right!
Have you looked at getting a second opinion? I don't know if this would do any good or not but I would be questioning why the implant failed. I would maybe get a second opinion from a board certified surgeon who is familiar with small breeds. At the very least, it would make me feel better to hear his answer as why may have happened.

I would for sure follow the surgeons instructions for the post surgery care. Crate rest or non activitiy is important for sucessful recuperation after any type of procedure as well as any physical therapy. Good luck and please let us know how your little one is doing.
