I did go to her house, and saw her animals and they were clean and well cared for but looking back there were red flags. I should have walked away, but instead bought 2 dogs from her. Allie, 6 months and Noah, 8 weeks. Only after Noah came down with parvo did I find YT and realized that I had done wrong.... I don't regret it though. I love them regardless of who bred them and what her reasons were.
I purchased Westley without meeting his breeder or physically seeing him or the set up but I felt confident in my decision because of her questions, her answers and her previous clients. He flew here with a personal handler and rode with her in the cabin. I have never regretted how much I paid or not seeing her home.
I'm glad you have never regretted your decision, but is it wise to recommend to others to overlook visiting the home? Not everyone has such good instincts. How do you think the mills stay in business? They fool a lot of people, there are members of Yorkietalk who essentially are running puppy mills, but "are really nice people." We could put the mills out of business easily, if we encourage people to visit the homes. Breeders who sell directly to the public, do not need a license, and no government agency ever inspects their kennels.
