My Jilli Ann is 8 months old as of the 15th and is just now going in for a spay, microchipped, on the 5th of May and to have her lower baby canines removed. This is why I waited to have her spayed, just in case this would happen. It's unwise to leave the baby teeth in as it can cause decay or make the permanent teeth go out of alignment. My Zada was 7 in Dec. and has never needed a dental till a few months ago, Azrael was 7 in Jan. and still doesn't need a dental and Razael is 5 and just now could use a light dental. As long as your brushing her teeth, there is no reason why she should need a dental in a year. In fact, I've never known of a dog needing a dental that soon, but then I don't know all dogs.
