Has anyone had their yorkie neautered and had these similar symptoms? What should I expect in the next few days with him? This isn't like him, I know he just had surgery but he doesn't shake like this typically and if the pain meds are still in him why is he crying /whimpering? Please help, any advice I'm crying I'm so worried about him. |
He is probably in a little bit of pain. Miles was sort of doing a constant quiet whimper. Your boy probably can't pee because of the catheter during surgery and being on a fast for 12+ hours before surgery. Miles didn't pee pee until the following morning I think. I asked if I could give him some more pain meds but the vet said no it was too soon so we had to stick it out. If it was me that was in pain I would have taken the meds; however, I didn't want to take a chance with Miles and extra pain meds. We woke up around 2:30 AM the following morning with Miles still whimpering so I gave him the meds as we normally wake up for breakfast around 5:30ish or so and 3 hours wasn't going to kill him. Within 20 mins or so he was quiet and resting on his back on my bed and out of pain. The day he was much better and wanting to lick his surgery area so I had to keep the e-collar on until Friday at around 12PM I "ripped" that thing off of him as I couldn't stand it anymore.
So by now I assume you have spoken to the vet by now and hopefully the baby is doing well. Just give him plenty of TLC, as my vet told me, and he will be fine in a few days.
