There are other threads on here; about large/small dogs living together.

I have two big and one small Yorkie. Like anything else with well-trained Large and small dog; it has a better chance of working out. Also you need to be alert to dangerous situations.
I like have dogs that are crate trained. That is often usefull, when company comes, or service men, etc.

Also I think it is easier with dogs that do not have a high prey drive (particularly the larger dog).

Personally I don't allow the big and little to play together. Other than swimming. They go on walks together - but are not let off lead to romp around. IMO it is way too easy for an inadvertent injury.
