yes, it could be, also it could be what you clean your floors with, is a product called BAG Balm, my holistic Vet recomended it to me when my Prada got a nasty paw infection, I rub her paws with it, twice a week. and it has help tremendously, so I started cleaning my pack paws twice a week with a baby wipe and rubbing the bag balm and all their paws look very nice and soft now, I use to use musher's secret but bag balm works so much better.
