Since you are inexperienced and are only paying $500 for the C-section (does that include spay either or please do it during the C-section it'll be so much easier on her and you) and again since you are getting bargain priced vet care then you shouldn't stress over having the pups whelped by the vet staff for the first few weeks.
They have the experience and can help place the pups in reputable homes for you as many vets work hand in hand with rescues.
Perhaps you should consider altering your male ASAP testicular cancer rates go up the longer he goes unaltered.
You know most breeder spend years studying and learning under a mentor as well they alter their breeding dogs as they age to prevent common health issues that unaltered animals face.
