If she can rule out that it possibly came from meds, they need to look for a Chiari malformation. Chiari can show up at any time in a dogs life but the majority of cases are diagnosed between the ages of 2 & 3 yrs old. Is the dog having any other symptoms like slight to severe drunken gate, head tilt even very slightly to one direction or any other thing out of the ordinary ? With
Vision loss caused be Chiari, the eye looks perfectly normal & this because it is, well the actual eye ball is normal but a fluid cyst caused be the malformation will often press on the optic nerve causing blindness but vision will be restored with proper treatment. So if they can't find any other problem, this is what I would be checking for. There is another YT member with a pup who's name is Bella who's pup also lost her vision from a Chiari but I can't remember the username at this time. Bella regained her sight after treatment began.
