there are many different species of starfish. Patrick is a sand sifting star, so he sifts through the sand and eats detritus material, algae and micro fauna. The reason why the fish forum people were telling me to return him was bc my tank is too small and too young for there to be enough food for him to eat. But obviously he is eating something. Those kinds of stars you really can't supplement their diet, they just won't eat food like pellets or brine shrimp.
