I had a neighbor who came running to me with her little Yorkie in her arms, crying the pup had just stood on top of an ant hill that had been sprinkled with Amdro granules, and was licking up the greanules....(I have NO idea why she ran to me instead of the vet!!!)...we called poison control and told them what it was and what had happened...they were not concerned the dog was going to die or anything....just some gastric upset....just watch him for any symptoms of poisoning....I called the company that makes Amdro, listed on the bag...they asked me fore some number off the bag, and then they essentially told me there was nothing to worry about, the dog may show signs of gastric upset (vomiting, diarrhea) but he would be OK......I was very uncomfortable with the advice we were getting, so I told the lady to take the dog to the vet, because if the dog started showing signs of staggering and lethargy, it was into his system and then was was really nothing could be done by treating the symptoms....she went to the vet, they also were not concerned enough to even induce vomiting....and the little dog never missed a beat....so I dont know......scared the mess out of me and I am still not sure about how that all went down!
