I learned a lot during this process and it was an experience. I was so worried and had so many questions! It is scary to feel so unsure!

Bella had her surgery at about 9:00 am and I picked her up at about 3:00 pm. She was really out of it. So we took a fuzzy blanket and put a potty pad under it just in case she had an accident or was sick.

I finally got her to take a little honey water by 5:00 and offered her more whenever she was alert. I had opted for the full IV for her so I was not too worried about dehydration. The VET office said we should try to have her eating and drinking by evening...this was not happening. I did take her out in the early evening and she pee'd.

She slept until about 2:30 am and then was restless so I took her outside and she pee'd again. When I brought her in she drank a little water but would not eat her food so I made her a scrambled egg which she snarfed down. She went right back to sleep and was restless again by 6:30 so I took her out...she had a hard time pooping but tried and did a little. She was hungry and ate another scrambled egg! Sheesh! I think she would not eat her food because they also pulled teeth (I take an egg white and about 1/2 the yolk and scramble it)

She was still pretty out of it on Saturday and slept a lot. She did really good but would only eat eggs....so that is what she got.

Today, she is doing much better. She wants to jump off the couch all time! It is hard to keep her settled.

It is going to be a long process trying to keep her settled and make her be on a leash for 14 days!! She likes to be independent!
