Hello All, I to am also new to YT. My little Rambo was 10 weeks old when we brought him home and had all his puppy shots from the breeder. He was starting obedience classes on January 9 so we took him to the Vet on Jan 7 for his 12 week shots and Bordetella and my Vet told me that when the breeders give Parvo when they are 6 or 8 weeks old it's not effective. The other shots that they get at the same time override the Parvo. So Rambo got a Parvo shot that day and we went back two weeks later for the second one.
Just thought I would let you know. If you are bringing home a new baby and you've been told they already had their Parvo shot maybe check with your Vet and see what their policy is on Parvo shots and when the pup is to get it. |
