There are quite a few members here who have cats with their Yorkies and they seem to get along well. One of them even gets baths from his Kitty brother
A very important thing is to make sure to block off the litter box so the puppy can't get to it, but kitty can. Dogs seem to love "kitty roca" and that's just gross, not to mention not good for their health.
Read all you can here, ask questions, and get to know everyone, lots of nice folks here. You have lots of time to learn all you need to know about your pup. How old will the pup be when you bring it home? It's recommended by reputable breeders and the YTCA that they stay with Momma for 12 weeks, at least.
