Personally I would never put a $500 deposit down on a 1 week old pup. That is VERY early days, anything could happen as of yet, and the fact she is breeding a 7 year old bitch dosn't make her sound like a reputable breeder. As LuckyLady already mentioned, usually a bitch shouldn't be bred past the age of 5.
