You are so right on...! If I added up EVERYTHING I've spent on Max and Marley, including Max's adoption fee (Marley was free), it wouldn't top $3000 in two years. I don't count the gadzillions I've spent on vet care, vaccinations, preventative health, food, and grooming, since those aren't discretionary costs for responsible pet owners.
Oops... I forgot... the Invisible Fence I put in cost nearly $1400. But the lives it is saving and the peace of mind it gives me are priceless.
