He has a longish nose for a Yorkie that age, my guess is that he's a mix. I've heard that breeders in AZ mix yorkies with Silkies and you often get this type of look with the longer nose. As Gemy says, you can't be sure without a DNA test, some dogs are purebred, but they just don't look it because the breeder didn't know how to breed. I would not support a CKC (Continental Kennel Club) breeder. So many pet quality Yorkies are available through rescue, the only reason to buy a puppy is to support a breeder who is breeding to preserve and improve the breed. I really don't think a purebred is "better" than a mutt, it's all about the breeders for me, and now that you have this dog, I'm glad you will love him no matter what, but I hope next time you go to buy a dog, you will find the best breeder you can find. |
