We had a similar experience with Sadie. My DH was walking her around his mother's back yard in Mississippi. She slipped into the neighbor's yard and he wasn't worried because it was bordered by the bayou. She went right up to the edge and jumped in. He said that she looked back at him like "Daddy - I screwed up!". She was swimming though and was headed for the other side, so he jumped in after her up to his waist. All he could think of was all the snakes and snapping turtles that live in the bayou and that nothing had better happen to her on his watch. She didn't start shaking till I took her in to bathe her.
That's really good new that Chachi figured out how to get out.
