 help with stay command
I've had my 7.5 month old in two obedience classes where we worked on stay. In the first class, she actually would stay for a bit. Now, she seems to think stay is a release and literally moves the second you say "stay." As far as I can tell, nothing was done different in the second class.
Right now, I'm getting her in a down or sit, taking a step forward and putting up a hand stop sign and saying "stay". The trainer suggested having her on a leash and holding her in a stay at first....any other ideas? |
